I took my exercise outside this morning since the weather is just beautiful. We had a drop in temperature yesterday about 20 degrees so we have the windows open - it's my favorite time of the year. It's been some time since I did Couch 2 5k, but I know that the program works, and it's been on my radar to try to do an actual 5k some point in my life. I've done the program twice before, but I have never done it outside before - only ever on the treadmill, but I figure if I am ever going to run an actual 5k race, I need to do it outside. Running outside is different for sure, and in the past, I just started walking instead of running. Somehow in my mind, the treadmill forced me to keep going at a job. Crazy, but true.
This morning I listened to Mia Jones' podcast, which has fabulous music to keep you going. I felt a little bit stronger as I have been doing ShaunT's T25 this summer, and I am nearing the end of the first 10 weeks of that program. Yes, I have been following Tania and modifying for almost of the program, but I've been pressing play and getting it done. I never thought I would stick to it. The Facebook challenge group I've been a part of has kept me accountable with the exercise and eating. Being somewhat successful with this program has got me think that maybe I can really do this 5k thing. So here I go.
